LITTLE ROCK - Gov. Mike Huckabee, who successfully pushed for a statewide workplace smoking ban earlier this year, predicted Wednesday that cigarettes eventually won’t be sold because of their health risks.

"Bend It Like Beckham," "Garden State," "I Heart Huckabees" and "Sideways," were all produced by the company. The latest movie to hit the silver screen is "Thank You for Smoking." The satirical comedy features cigarette lobbyist Nick Naylor (Aaron Eckhart) as he experiences his daily life between being the Vice President of the Academy of Tobacco Studies and being a divorced dad trying to connect with his son (Cameron Bright). The plot of the movie is full of twists as Nick tries to stay ahead of the game while a world full of cigarette haters are trying to bring down the big tobacco companies. Meanwhile, the tobacco companies are secretly partnered with the Academy of Tobacco Studies so that no harmful evidence linking cigarettes to physical health will be found. Nick comes up with the idea to put cigarettes back in the hands of Hollywood actors by having them smoke in the films to reiterate that smoking is fashionable. As his boss, BR (J.K. Simmons) says, "We don't sell Tic Tacs, we sell cigarettes. And they're cool, available and addictive. The job is almost done for us." Nick's job takes him to various places, from Hollywood to meet the head of an entertainment company (Rob Lowe) in order to put out a movie release with big names and releasing a special cigarette with the release of the movie, out to the home of the original Marlboro man (Sam Elliott) to bribe him into stopping his badmouthing of the tobacco companies. The plot takes a sharp turn when Nick is interviewed by reporter Heather Halloway (Katie Holmes), who he ends up spilling secrets to while making love. When the information is leaked, it puts Nick and his friends in a sticky situation. However, his friends are one of the best parts of the movie. They call themselves the M.O.D. Squad, standing for "Merchants of Death." Nick is the cigarette lobbyist, and he is joined by alcohol lobbyist Polly Bailey (Maria Bello) and firearms lobbyist Bobby Jay Bliss (David Koechner). The trio meet once a week to eat and converse, with their conversations adding a good portion of the humor to the movie. Eventually, Nick finds himself depressed and alone. However, when his son reminds him of the wonders that Nick teaches others, Nick is determined to correct his wrongs. The movie has been playing throughout theaters since last month, and now Indianapolis has the opportunity to view the hilarious film. It is currently playing at the Landmark Keystone Art theater at the Fashion Mall, and at the Kerasotes Showplace theater at the Glendale Mall as well as other theaters around the Indianapolis area.
